Snarl notifications not working

I have configured the OWA Tray Monitor successfully and have tested it with the Balloon notifications, which are working correctly. I'm also using Snarl, which I know is working correctly since I am getting my Pidgin notifications.

It seems that somehow the two are not connecting. I have not seen any notification that the OWA Tray Monitor has been registered with Snarl. Any suggestions?

Can you confirm the version of Snarl please?

Snarl R2.31 (V41.51). Just this morning Snarl found and registered OWA Tray, but no notifications are coming through. The balloon options still works, but nothing is getting sent to Snarl.

I should also mention that my computer account is non-admin and if it required admin access to install (which I do not remember if it did) I would have used the "
Run-As"
option with admin credentials.

I also did not install it into C:\Program Files, but rather onto an altogether separate internal hard drive.

All very strange.

When you stop &
start OWAtray, Snarl should report the (de)registration of the program. If that's working then Snarl should "
just work"


May I suggest a re-install of both programs if that's not a huge burden on you?

I did uninstall then reinstall both apps from the admin account, and did see some improvement.

Now whenever I start/stop OWATray that Snarl does register and unregister it. However, still no notifications when I get new emails or get appointment reminders. In the Apps tab of Snarl, the only notification class I have for OWA Tray is <
All>
. Is this normal, or should I see more classes than this? I do see other classes for other apps, like Pidgin, which has been working with Snarl.

Also, when the notifier is installed, does it install anything in the registry based on the current logged-in user? The account I normally use is not the admin one, so perhaps there is a discrepancy there? If not the registry, is the notifier storing settings in the %APPDATA% folder or anywhere else I should check?

If you delete everything in that folder then restart you are guaranteed a fresh OWAtray install.

I uninstalled OWA Tray, deleted the local appdata folder, and uninstalled Snarl. Then reinstalled OWA Tray and the most-recent Beta release of Snarl (4.2b2) and now everything works. Previously I was using the most-recent stable version of Snarl (2.31). Not exactly sure what the issue was, but it's working now. Thanks for all your help!
