Currently, I have to reset the tray icon manually so that I know that new mail has arrived since the last time I looked in my inbox.

It would be nice to have an option to automatically reset the tray icon when OWA is launched.

When I get the new email notification, I might look at my inbox but not actually read the mail message. For example, I might get messages where the subject line is all I need to read. Consequently, I have a number of messages that the OWA Tray Monitor thinks is new when they're really not, they're just unread. Even when I've read the email, the Tray Monitor icon stays in the 'New Mail' state until I reset it manually.

Having an option to reset the Tray Monitor icon automatically when I open OWA by clicking on the Tray Monitor gives me a visual indication that no new email has arrived since the last time I looked in my inbox.

OK, I understand.

Are you already using the 'Reset Tray Icon' feature from the Right-click menu of the tray icon?

Yes. But it's a two step process - 1) look at inbox, 2) reset tray icon. Sometimes I forget to reset it.

If you want to leave the current behaviour the default, at least create an option to automatically reset the tray icon when OWA is launched.

Another possibility is to automatically reset the tray icon when any email message has been viewed/clicked on. Do you get notified when that happens?

I'll put it in the 'maybe' pile. Thanks.

I support this enhancement. It was a really good little productivity feature in another (now defunct) OWA tray notification app. To make it perfect: Have three different icons representing three different states:
- no unread mails
- one or more unread mails. last owatray notification acknowledged by user
- last owatray notification un-acknowledged by user

Otherwise: Great work!

Thanks for the suggestions but I think I'll be leaving the tray notifications as they are for the time being.
