401 Unauthorized - Offsite and Onsite
Good day!
First, thanks for the awesome program and the awesome job you seem to be doing with this increasing the popular tool!
We recently began encountering some problems when using OWA Tray Monitor. Everything was working without issue several weeks back, but now we are no longer able to communicate with the Exchange server using this tool. All other OWA access mechanisms are still operational and this issue seems to be isolated to communication with the OWA Tray Monitor.
When supplying the appropriate credentials, OWA Tray Monitor reports a 401:Unauthorized error. I can log in using the credentials otherwise without issue.
Our settings are as follows (and were working previously):
Server Address: companyweb.mydomain.com (have also tried ...com/owa - both resulting in the same error).
User: username
Password: password
Domain: mydomain.local
The utility sets the default Exchange URL to 'https://companyweb.srafoods.com/ews/exchange.asmx' - when I access this via IE, I am redirected to https://companyweb.mydomain.com/ews/Services.wsdl... Yet still Tray Monitor reports the 401... When I supply the https://companyweb.mydomain.com/owa/ews/exchange.asmx, I am issued 'Bad Request' (via IE)...
Does this ring any bells with you or do you have any ideas where I could check to diagnose this issue?
Thank you very much!
Matt

Re: 401 Unauthorized - Offsite and Onsite
Hi Matt,
My obvious questions are,
(i) Has anything changed at your backend configuration recently?
(ii) Is this happening to all users?
If the answer to (ii) is Yes then it indicates a server-side change (which may tie into the answer to (i))
If No, and it is a specific account then we need to look at either the account settings or the OWAtray config.
If you can set me up with a temporary account, I'd be glad to look into this from here (email me the details at support@owatray.com)

Matt,
Did you ever resolve this issue. Give me a shout if you need help.

Re: 401 Unauthorized - Offsite and Onsite
Hello - awesome tool! Looks great.
I am actually having the same issue. My company uses the URL:
https://webmail.comapnyname.com/Exchange/
This is where I sign in, and also where the 'dashboard' is directed to. The rest of my settings are the same as the original poster's above.
EDIT: Oh, and I had to over-ride the default URL since going to webmail.mycompany.com/exchange/owa or webmail.mycompany.com/owa gave me a 404.
Thanks for your assistance and for a great tool! My company is strict about using either the provided Outlook Client on our desk computers, and OWA for anything else, so this will help me a lot keeping up on emails. (which, they function on entirely since everyone works remote)

Re: 401 Unauthorized - Offsite and Onsite
Hi,
Firstly, can you confirm you are using either Exchange 2007 or 2010?
Secondly, unless you have a *very* specialised setup, you should put the URL back to default value. The URL used is *not* the same as you use for direct OWA access.
If you could take a screenshot of your settings and email to support@owatray.com I can take a better look at what is going on.
Thanks.
