Local administrators can install use the software. (w7 - 64)
But run as a regular user, the Owa tray gives (.net?) errors.

My first thought is that you are having security issues. OWAtray needs write access to the %localappdata% are of the disk for that user.

I already checked the regular filelocations and rights are ok.

Owatray starts in the right corner, I can open options. But as soon as I want to fill in a field (email, user name etc.), the .net popup error occurs. This happens at every field. Settings are not saved.
As a local administrator everything works perfectly.

Ok, well that's a big clue as it will attempt to save each setting on change.

It will by default save to the same folder as the binary is installed so if there are restrictions then this will be a problem.

You can pass the name of a file location on the command line to redirect this to somewhere 'safe'

Create a shortcut to the EXE and in the Target box append an absolute file location to where you would like the config file to be collected from.

e.g.
