Citrix
Im looking at using OWATray in a citrix multi-user environment. I have been using OWATray on my laptop and it works great " title="Smile" />.
Couple of questions -
1. The application installed to - C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\OWAtray. To enable the application to work in a multi-user Citrix server would all files have to be copied into the users directory?
2. Is there anyway to pre-populate the connection details inside OWATray? I would like to make it as seamless as possible for the end user.
Thanks

Re: Citrix
1. I'm not sure I fully understand what you are asking here. The application installs on a per-user basis, however in theory you can copy the files in the app folder anywhere you want.
2. There is a file in the app folder called scenario.xml which holds the connection details. This could be pre-populated.

Re: Citrix
Hi,
Thanks for reply.
Can the application be installed on a per server basis? Each user would start the main exe and have a seperate scenario/config file?
Thanks

Re: Citrix
Stuart,
It wouldn't work in this fashion 'out-the-box' but it wouldn't be a massive amount of work to modify it to do so.
If you want to contact me at support@owatray.com then we could maybe discuss the viability of this further.

Re: Citrix
Sorry to hijack this thread, but I am possibly interested in using OWATray for the same purpose here. Was a solution reached on this particular issue?

Re: Citrix
Yes, a per-user config file can be passed by simply adding a path to the Target shortcut, e.g.
Hope this helps.
- Code:
C:
\<
path>
\DrunkenBakery.
OWAtray.
GUI.
exe "
C:
\Users\<
user>
\scenario.
xml"
Hope this helps.
Re: Citrix
I am a little fuzzy on the details of how this would work. I have a couple questions.
1. Would I have to create a .xml file for each of my Citrix users?
2. If yes, Would that .xml file have to live in the users profile since they may hit different servers when they log on from day to day?
3. Assuming yes to 1 and 2, Where would I add that path so when OWATray automatically starts up, it grabs the correct config .xml file?

Re: Citrix
I'm no Citrix expert but I am assuming that the answer to your first 2 questions would be yes and that the app would be stored centrally with a localized shortcut for each user that invokes the executable with the correct XML file.
